General Information

Equipment :

Obligatory :
Mobile phone, make sure it is charged up and that you have added in the race security numbers as indicated at the race HQ.
Running sack or waist bag with capacity to carry 1.5litres of water/electrolyte drink.
Torch with replacement batteries.
Survival blanket.
Whistle.
Adhesive elastic bandage to enable making of a bandage or strapping.
Energy food, bars, gels etc.
Waterproof jacket.
Cap or bandana / buff.

Strongly recommended :
Sleeping Mat
Gloves, hat and warm clothes ( weather can be changeable in October and cold at night ).
Additional spare socks and vest can be kept in drop bag.
Waterproof leggings.
20 euros minimum (to buy extra food or cover the unexpected ….)

Advised :
Trekking poles, change of clothes, compass, spare torch, small first aid kit. Note, poles not allowed in drop bag.

Check Points :
The Check Points will be in the towns of Ventorros de San Jose, Montefrio and Huetor-Tajar, with CP2 (water CP) the only remote check point. There will be food and drinks available at CP1, CP3, and CP4. It will also be possible to rest at these places as long as you leave by the cut off time (2hr max). Drop bags will only be at Montefrio.

Family and friends are welcome to visit and wait at these check points.  Personal assistance by family is allowed throughout the race.

There will also be intermediate points with water available.

Registration : The Medina Lauxa Municipal Stadium
Registration : Friday 19 October between 17:00 and 22:00
Registration : Saturday 20, October between 8:00 and 8:30
The race begins at 9:00 Saturday October 20 for all categories.

Anticipated duration of each circuit :
50KM circuit should be completed by 7PM Sat.
80KM circuit should be completed by 1AM Sun. ( Maximum 16 hours )
160KM circuit should be completed by 5PM Sun. ( Maximum 32 hours )

Transport to Loja :
To take advantage of the inexpensive and good bus service to Loja from Malaga, it would be best to book a flight that gets you to Malaga no later than 18:00.

Airport Bus Schedule :
Malaga City Airport Bus C19 runs every 20 - 25 minutes from the airport into Malaga City bus terminal where you connect with bus service to Loja. (5 Euros).

Malaga Bus Station :
When you arrive go to ALSINA GRAELIS ticket office and purchase a ticket from Malaga to Loja. The schedule is 9:20, 10:00, 10:30, 13:00, 15:30, 16:00, 18:00, 19:30 y 20:00. 

Transport from Loja bus station to Medina Lauxa Sports Complex will be provided.

Late International Flights :
For those whose flights are later, we will send the e-mail addresses of other runners coming from abroad to participants with the hope that there is a possibility of coordinating arrivals and transport and sharing taxis. Taxis are 90-95 euros. If the flight schedules are within an hour of each other and the numbers warrant it we will arrange for bus pick-up. This may cost 20-25 Euros per person.

Those choosing to arrive on the Thursday, October 18, a day earlier, should arrive before 6:00PM (18:00) so that they can use the local bus service from Malaga to Loja.

Completion of the 80km = 2 points and the 160km = 4 points towards the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc (UTMB).

Awards will be made within reasonable time of each event finish and not all on Sunday afternoon.
